Damiana is a small shrub that grows to a height of 1m, native to Mexico, Central America, and the West Indies, as well as in parts of South America.
Damiana has a long history of use in traditional herbal medicine. It is thought to act as an aphrodisiac, antidepressant, tonic and mild laxative. It has been used for such conditions as depression, sexual inadequacy or debilitation, menstrual irregularities, gastric ulcers, and constipation.
